Failed Leadership

Having Cleansed the Temple in Jerusalem, Jesus now Confronts their Leadership. The parable calls them "husbandmen" from who the Lord sought fruit. Having stirred up their indignation, they subsequently try to challenge Him so as to discredit Him. The three leadership groups represented are the Hypocritical Legalists, the Headstrong Rationalists and finally the Humble (though a novice) Purist. To conclude the lesson here, Jesus shows His disciples what fruit He should have found in a poor widow.
