Finding Peace from God's Character

1. God loves to help the needy v6-7
   We are the needy. He provides for His children (Gal 4). Those who are in Christ are adopted into God's family
   Psalm 146:5-7/Psalm 12:5/Psalm 68:6

2. God shows mercy to those who don't deserve it v8
   This verse is a quote from Exodus 34:6
   Mercy is the withholding is punishment
   The Lord is compassionate - He pardons us
   The Lord is gracious - He gives us what we don't deserve
   The Lord is allow to anger - He is patient with us when we fall and fail
   The Lord abounds in love - He loves is more than we can imagine
   James 5:11 "....the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful"
   James 2:10/Psalm 86:15/Nehemiah 9:17

3. God Tempers His wrath v9-10
   Does not mean that His wrath never comes. God is righteous and just
   Micah 7:18 "Who is a God like you...."

4. God Forgives Sin v11-16
   God forgive sin to those who fear him. To those who trust in Christ

alone for salvation. His loving kindness extends to generations 2 Chronicles 30:9

There is forgiveness with God and God is a God of grace to the penitent sinner. He is willing to give us a new heart (Ezekiel 36:26-27)

5. God Saves those who Trust in Him and this will never fail v17-18
   There is no other way to this but through Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12
