Genesis 25:1-18 - The Scriptures and the Power of God

The structural markers in the book of Genesis, while they do indicate strong evidence of multiple sources, also demonstrate incredible crafting by one compiler and editor, likely Moses.

We also see in this passage that, even though Ishmael was not the promised Son, God was still faithful to the promises He had made regarding Ishmael. God is faithful in the little things as well as the big things.

This passage also reveals to us, in veiled language, that even in the Torah, the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, can the doctrine of the resurrection of the dead be found.
