Jesus Condemns Whole Cities? These are, The Verses That Must Not Be Spoken. Why?
Series The Book of Joel

As we start the lecture our pastor is going to get into a difficult passage. Why? Because someone asked a fantastic question. You see. It pays to ask questions in this church. Let's find out how Matthew 11:20-24 and Luke 10 fit into our study of Joel. The Matthew 11 passage is not touched in the commentaries. They are considered, "Verses That Must Not Be Spoken". Our pastor asks, Why does God hide things. It will only take him 16 yellow legal pages of notes to get thru it. "Oh, is that all?”
Here we have places; Chorazin, Bathsaida, and Jesus did not have nice words to say about them. But of Capernaum, He says the punishment of Sodom is nothing compared to what's going to happen to these people. "But that's not What Jesus Would Do!" Oh really? Well, go ahead and back that tape up in your head. We've got some new information for you.
Here you’ve got a bunch of Blind, Lame, Deaf, and Leprous people, and poor people... And Dead people, that are given the Gospel and healed... and Raised. There are thousands of them. You might want to hear what this pastor has to say about this. Then again, a few of you may not.
I think I'll stop there before I thin the "crowd" down to nothing.
The advanced class begins when you press play. But first, get out your TextBook and a note pad. We hope you find this lecture to be of value. And to those of you who support this ministry, we appreciate you. We are humbled and grateful. Thanks to all of you for sitting in with us. For current lectures, go to www.cliffside.org.
