Humility before Persecution

We face in our lives various trials of men and demons and in the process we learn to survive, overcome, even triumph but if we come through them with a spirit of pride, self exaltation then the enemy has subtly won a strategic battle. For he has turned us away from the spirit God blesses. He has turned us away from the spirit or attitude in which we came to God in the first place. He has turned us from that spirit that honors Christ in our sufferings. The attitude that God would have pressed out of us in the midst of our sufferings is humility.
