Freedom of the Will
Series Westminster Shorter Catechism
WSC #13: Did our first parents continue in the estate wherein they were created? Our first parents, being left to the freedom of their own will, fell from the estate wherein they were created, by sinning against God.
Aim: To recognize the extent and state of our freedom.
Doctrine: God's mercy expands our freedoms to will and to run.
Exposition: Forgotten freedoms of the will: freedom to reflect (13:25-33), to reject (14:1-10), to return (14:11-20), and to reform (14:21-25)
Application: Exercise your available freedom: to believe God with your own will, and to follow Jesus with your own feet.
Key verse: 14:20 ''Then the LORD said, 'I have pardoned, according to your word.'''
