What is Man that You are Mindful of Him?
Series Psalms
What is Man that You are Mindful of Him?
Intro: In the psalm we are studying this morning, we encounter a much different setting then what we’ve been accustomed to seeing in the past few Psalms.
•In Psalm 3 we saw that David needed saving from his many enemies that were rising up against him.
•In Psalm 4 we see David again in trouble and calling out to God to be gracious to him and to hear his prayer.
•In Psalm 5 David also told God to “give ear to [his] words” and to “consider his groaning.”
•In Psalm 6 David experienced the discipline of God and said that his “bones [were] troubled]” and that his “soul also [was] greatly troubled.” And he asked God “How long?”
•And in Psalm 7 we saw David appealing to God’s justice in his courtroom because of a false accusation that was made against him.
So far there has been a lot of conflict, a lot of trouble, and crying out to God for grace, relief, and help. But our Psalm this morning is different. What we see is our psalmist proclaiming the majesty and glory of God and describing the future glories of the human race under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
