Repentance for those who Pierce the Lord

Introduction

 The prophecy of Zechariah has two main parts. Chapter 1-8 chapters pertain to the situation in post-exilic Israel. Chapters 9-14 contains 2 oracles concerning God’s judgement upon His enemies and blessings upon His people.

 The first oracle is from chapter 9 to 11. It includes a prophecy of the triumphal entry of Christ into Jerusalem as her king.

 The second oracle is from chapter 12 to 14. It opens with a promise of God’s favour towards New Jerusalem, and proceeds to speak of the gift of repentance for those who pierced Him in verses 10-14.
