Faith Under Discipline

The Lord's disciplining of David, previously proclaimed by Nathan the prophet, is continuing with the taking of the kingdom by Absalom. David's sin dulled his senses to the development of Absalom's four-year conspiracy. But in the midst of the Lord's discipline, the Lord also provided grace for David to make the prudent decision: to flee Jerusalem as Absalom's soldiers advanced.
