An Insatiable Desire for Christ
Series Series in Song of Solomon
The first seven verses of Song of Solomon present two paradoxes. The first one is, what we might call, an unfulfilled fullness or an unsatisfied satisfaction. The expressions of love are as deep as you will get anywhere in Scripture—it is love that fills up the senses and yet it is a love that is never fulfilled and never satisfied. The Christian’s love for Christ is a love that was satisfying at one time, but perhaps has been thwarted by personal weakness, inconstancy, spiritual laziness or earthy distractions. Yet, because of the Holy Sprit indwelling and having tasted the good things of God, there is an insatiable desire to return and enjoy Him again. How many of us live with that continual desire and do little about it—there is continual conviction but no change. The bribe prays, as we should;
• Kiss Me: The Manifestation of his love (Vs. 2)
• Draw Me: The Motivation of his love (Vs. 4)
• Tell Me: The Ministry of his love (Vs. 7)
