Genesis 36 - Answering the Prayer: Blessing

Jacob heads back to meet the consequences of his betrayal 20 years earlier. God still required him to answer for the consequences of his sin. Jacob's fear of meeting Esau revealed that he would sacrifice slaves, livestock, and family to save himself. Then, he met God and learned that Christ would not let him take the easy way out. Christ gave him a new name, Israel (One who struggles with God) and Israel has been struggling with God ever since.
