His Name Is Adonai

We like to think of ourselves as free, independent, autonomous people. We don't want anyone telling us what to do or how to do it. We don't want to serve anyone. We certainly don't want to be a slave to anyone.
Yet the Bible says the Lord - Adonai - is our master and owner. What gives Him the right to make this kind of outrageous claim. And how can that possibly be a good thing for us?
