The End of the Age

Jesus promises to be with his disciples "always" even to the end of the age. Does this mean until the world, as we know it, ends? Does it mean the end of our life? Does it mean some other set point in time? Jesus is the Good Shepherd, who never leaves his sheep. This is the comforting point of the passage, and an assurance that the Great Commission will succeed.
