Faith's Vision

When the LORD speaks his word of promise to us in times of calamity, the outworking of this is often a song. We are creatures who sing, with our mouths or in our hearts, and we sing of the things that most capture our hearts. Chapter 3 of Habakkuk is such a song: a celebration of the LORD's work, an expression of confidence in his faithfulness, and with an expectation that he will continue to work faithfully for his people. The song expresses faith's quiet joy, when the soul is silent before the LORD in his temple. The Judge of the whole earth will always do what is right, so we cannot help but burst forth in song.
