The Jerusalem Council - The Answer of the Prophets

In addressing the Gentile question, Peter first noted God's testimony regarding it by recounting the episode in Cornelius' house. Paul and Barnabas built upon that by sharing what God had been doing among the Gentiles through their far-reaching ministry in Asia Minor. Peter, Paul and Barnabas affirmed God's disposition toward the Gentiles by rehearsing His actions; James then did so by rehearsing His promise concerning them in the prophetic writings. This message considers James' use of Amos 9:11-15 and how it answers the question at hand, namely the terms under which Gentiles become members of God's covenant household.
