Truly Man, Truly Dead
Series Exposition of John's Gospel
We have several witnesses here to the fact that Jesus was a true Man, Who truly died. He didn't merely appear to be a man, nor did He merely appear to die. We need our Savior to be truly, in every way, a man, as Paul shows in Romans 5:12-19, and as the Westminster Larger Catechism shows in Q. 69. Thus for "swoon theories" and teaching from any source that it only appeared to be Jesus.
He was a true man, Who truly died to take away His people's sin -- not somebody (Judas? Hah!) or some thing else.
