Acts 16:6-10 - The Unpredictability of Divine Guidance

The timeless truths of Scripture still apply in timely fashion in our lives. Sometimes, though we'd like God to step in an reveal exactly what we're supposed to do and how we're supposed to do it, sometimes the only guidance we get--like the guidance received by Paul, Silas, and Timothy on the way to Troas--is, "Don't do that; don't even go over there."

God will reveal what He needs to reveal in His way and in His timing. The most common way that we must obey God is to keep being faithful in obeying His timeless commands and to keep being joyful in the process.
