Beloved Brethren, Stand Fast in the Lord

Philippians 4:1 is a "glorious transition" as both the fitting conclusion to Paul's teaching and exhortation of chapter 3 and a loving foundation to the admonitions to follow in chapter 4.

The verse itself contains the most loving and affectionate address to a body of believers. And the two main points are Paul's great affection for and his great exhortation to the Philippians.

Oh, that we would strive to know and exhibit such love for the brethren, resulting in such perseverance in the Lord.
