Corinth: Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Fire
Series Acts
Going from Athens to Corinth, for the Apostle Paul was ,definitely the equivalent of going from the frying pan into the fire.
Athens was steeped in pagan religion, and philosophies, but Corinth not only had that, but had the ultimate in debauchery that was practiced.
Another thing that should be noticed is that their Jewish Synagogue had also become an ecumenical hotbed, where sin, and corruption, ruled.
Yet, through it all, Paul could see the triumph of God"s Grace at work. This should be the Believer's motivation to continue in the Faith.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 : Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Let all your things be done with charity.
