The Glory of God in the Life of Man, Part 1
Series The Moral Law for Today
The 6th Commandment does not prohibit the taking of another person's life in cases of self-defense, just war, and capital punishment. Instead, the Hebrew term specifically prohibits unlawful killing (i.e. murder). And the reason is that all human beings bear the image of God.
