Considerations for Remaining Single

In this section, Paul begins to focus on matters relating to the single life and the advantages of remaining single if you are not already married. Paul does not say God wants you to stay single nor you should stay single, but he does point out the advantages it provides for living a life of undistracted devotion to the Lord. The principle is also established that governs all areas of our lives - those who are believers in Jesus Christ have their lives governed by an eschatalogical focus rooted in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, by having placed personal faith in Him. That perspective on God's plan shapes our lives and governs our understanding of the time in which we live and what will be its culmination.
