When Will God Vindicate His People?

Sermon: Revelation 6:9-17

Introduction:

As we go through the book of Revelation, it is a special literary form—apocalyptic. We need to keep in mind the symbolic images that are used and be looking at the overall impression.

I. vv. 9-11 --- The 5th seal focuses on the martyrs.
A. Their location – “under the altar”

B. Their faithfulness – unto death

C. Their question – “How long?”

II. God gives two answers to their question.
A. v. 11 --
- white robe

 - rest

B. vv, 12-17 --

III. The meaning of the breaking of the sixth seal.
A. It symbolizes cosmic changes.

	B. All those without Christ face terrifying judgment
