A Survey of Jude - Contending for The Faith!

Much of what Jude writes parallels what Peter wrote in his second letter… compare—Jude 4-18 and 2nd Peter 2:1-3:4.

· Peter writes about the coming apostasy – (2 Pet 2:1-3) ‘…there WILL BE false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies… And many WILL FOLLOW their destructive ways… By covetousness THEY WILL EXPLOIT you with deceptive words…’

· Jude writes about the present apostasy – (v.4) ‘For certain men HAVE CREPT IN unnoticed… ungodly men, WHO TURN the grace of our God into lewdness and DENY the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.’

Purpose: to exhort and encourage true believers to persevere in the faith… especially in times of increasing moral and religious cynicism, apostasy, and ungodliness…
