Paul's First Missionary Journey - Return to Antioch
Series Acts Series
At Lystra Paul and Barnabas saw their gospel ministry extended to Gentiles indeed - pagans who had no knowledge of the God of Israel. And though the majority of them resisted the apostles' message and exhortation, it was the Jews who stoned Paul and left him for dead. The next day he and Barnabas departed for Derbe where they continued to proclaim the good news of God's salvation in Christ. There they determined to return to Antioch, but to do so by retracing their steps in order to strengthen and encourage the new congregations of believers the Lord had brought forth by His grace. Not content to see people come to faith in Christ, Paul and Barnabas were committed to their progress and well-being. The goal of their gospel ministry was presenting every man complete in Christ.
