The Scorned Saviour Sought

In the introduction of Jephthah we see a picture of how Israel had treated God. Despised and rejected when all seemed well, they called out to him for deliverance, and he came to save them - but on his terms, not theirs. So it is that man rejects God, yet in trouble calls out for help, and God delivers on his own terms, that he be Lord.
