Taste and See

“Try it, you’ll like it” was the famous 1971 advertising phrase of Alka-Seltzer. We are commanded to “taste and see that Lord is good.” Try Him, you will like Him. Experience God for yourself. We are not just to believe in the Lord’s goodness; we are to experience that goodness. God’s goodness includes both His deliverance and His gifts, an expression of His holy love. Have you stopped at the appetizers? Many Christians have only a secondhand experience of God’s goodness. They may have heard sermons about God’s goodness. Their parents have said that God is good. They truly believe that God is good. But they haven’t tasted and seen for themselves that God is good. Trust and turn to God again and again for your refuge!
