- Love hopes all things:
This is the optimistic face of love.
Hopes the best from others
This is not blind optimism, but redemptive hope.
Love is confident in the efficacy of the Gospel. Phil 1:6
Love makes us serve others in hope
- Love endures all things:
Love holds its ground under the push of trials, afflictions and tests.
Infused in Gospel hope, love stands under the weight!
“There is no greater love that one lays down His life for his friends.” John 15:13
- Love never fails:
The literal meaning is: “love, will never ever, fall, crumble or come to ruins.”
Love, infused by the Spirit, girding the gifts with which we are endowed by Him to serve one another, WILL NEVER EVER FALL!
I John 4:8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love
A noun (love) is attributed to a Noun (God).
God is love
“By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world.”
The practice of love, can only be rooted in this Gospel… “so that we might live through Him.”
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control
POINTS TO PONDER:
Don’t you feel short and lacking?
Husbands this is how you love your wives – as Christ loved the church -
Church: “love one another fervently, from the heart.”
The only way to have this love is by: “considering Him... Hebrews 12:3-4
… But Jesus did it, for you and for me, let us run the race with our eyes fixed on Him!
