What Happened on the Cross?

Before He went to the Cross the Lord went to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane, there He sweated drops of blood and was greatly troubled.

Many martyrs who followed Christ to their deaths as faithful witnesses went cheerfully, some even singing as the flames engulfed them.

What was the crucial difference between the death of the Lord and the death of His faithful martyrs?
