2Cor019 Missionary Motives

The word "but" at the beginning of verse 13 signals the relationship between this text and what precedes. In verses 7-12, Paul expounded on the nature of Christian ministry, specifically, that it was a ministry characterized by weakness. Verses 13-15 set forth 3 primary motives which strengthen Paul to apply himself wholeheartedly to the preaching of the gospel even though it commits him to a life of sufferings among which are deep faith, doctrinal conviction, and an overarching to promote God's glory.
