The Blood that Speaks Better

This sermon examines one facet of the Hebrews writer's extended treatment of the crucial differences between the Old and New Covenants (ref. chaps. 7-10). In this context he contrasts them in terms of particulars associated with their representative mountains (Mount Sinai and Mount Zion). The high point of this contrast - and the matter out of which all of the other glories of the New Covenant flow - is Jesus' "sprinkled blood." Notably, the writer observes that Jesus' blood of the covenant speaks better than the blood of Abel, and this comparison is the primary subject of consideration.
