5000 Recline In Green Pastures! That is what Jesus was doing for them! Prophecy?

We start this Sunday with Mark 6:33-44. And this week the pastor goes into even more connections. And when you start looking at the connections sometimes, you say, "Why is this in the Bible?" But the things you discover when you do this are amazing. And something as mundane as the "green grass" can take you places in the Bible that you wouldn't have even looked into... yes, everything is important. And Christ tells them to sit down. But that's not what the word means. "Sit down" actually is to recline. Lie down in green pastures. Sound familiar? Psalms 23. The LORD is my shepherd. This is a picture but there's more to it. Those people that gathered to hear Jesus... they were like sheep without a shepherd. The Jewish people had been living by a system of laws and not under the Shepherd. And Jesus teaches them many things. This is God Himself fulfilling the great and wonderful prophecy.

Now let's read John 10:7-18. The good shepherd... The connections to this passage are wonderful, and this young pastor takes time to go through a few of them. And without Him laying down His life, our life would be meaningless. But because God laid down His life...

John 6:53-54... takes us into communion. Countless animals had been Sacrificed, and now His laying down His life fulfills all the promises. 1 Corinthians 11:25 completes this remembrance.

We hope you have enjoyed these past three Sundays of Pastor Daniel Bird's preaching. Lord willing, next Sunday Pastor Chronister will be back doing lectures and answering letters (there's been many wonderful people writing to him). Please let Daniel know how much we appreciate him.
