Trusting God In the Troublesome Times

Believers continue to find occasions when life and the accompanying emotions intensify, identifying with what was being expressed by David as he wrote this Psalm. The reality of emotions pervading our lives draws believers to the Psalms as God’s provision for an anchor and clarifying calmness in the midst of difficulties. The context of Psalm 4 was David being assaulted by verbal accusations, slander, and attacks on his character and reputation. As a man of God this was an extra burden on his heart and troubling to his soul. The psalm reflects his confidence in God to protect him and preserve his integrity as he calls for others to join him in trusting God.
