The Mandate for Preaching

As one reformer put it, "the pulpit is the throne for the Word of God." Yet that conviction is invisible in the church today. Instead there is no doubt a famine in the land for biblical preaching. When preaching is put on the back burner for other activities then the church will be robbed of hearing from its Bridegroom and the saying will become true, "so goes the pulpit, so goes the church." This Sunday we'll learn why preaching is so vital for the health of the local church and how we are to protect what is so essential to our spiritual lives.
