The Life of Samson

Samson's unique gift is his strength. He is a man of incomparable strength that has supernaturally been given him by God. His strength is in great contrast to his great moral weakness which is driven by his reckless pursuit of his own pleasures and immediate self-gratification.

Conflict developes over his Philistine wife.

God will use even Samson's sinful fleshly desires to accomplish His intention to begin to break through the powerhold the Philistines have asserted over Israel.

His life will have dire consequences as it comes to an end and yet he will die being used by God as he trusts God to empower him to bring judgment.

From this study we can learn:

1. Alliances with the world are always destructive.
2. God's people sometimes become more concerned about peace than victory.
3. Some believers are unwilling to join the battle even when God is giving victory.
4. Significant blessings may make us careless to the danger of sin.
5. Temptation may appear very beautiful and harmless.
6. Toying with sin can only destroy us.
7. Our own lust draw us into sin.
8. We can choose to sin but we cannot choose the consequences of that sin.
9. God will forgive but that doesn't mean He cancels out the consequences.
10. The believer's sin gives the enemies of the Lord an occasion to rejoice and gloat.
11. God can use even the most sin-crushed saint to accomplish His purposes - but not without being under a cloud of the consequences.
