WWJD? What would Jesus do? That's a good question to ask as we live in a PC world! What would Jesus do if He was physically here on earth today? What would Jesus' response be to harsh bosses and unfair treatment at work? Peter gives us the answer! He says that we've been called to follow Christ. We are not merely to follow His teaching, but also follow His example. We are to pattern our lives after His. We are to follow His example of love and forgiveness. But we are also to follow His example of obedience to God, even in the face of unjust suffering and death. Jesus leaves us a pattern to follow in dealing with harsh, unfair treatment. Jesus was sinless, blameless. He did not fight back nor seek vindication. He instead committed Himself to God the judge. Jesus did so for a distinct purpose; To provide eternal salvation for you and I. This sermon explores the example of Jesus in handling unfair, harsh treatment. But it goes deeper for it explores the great exchange that was made when our sins were placed on Jesus and His righteousness was given to us.
