Marriage in the Resurrection?

Sermon Point: Participate in the resurrection; understand the Scriptures and the power of God in Christ.

Outline:

1. The question of the Sadducees reveals they know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God (Matthew 22:23-33).
2. Scripture teaches marriage pictures God's love for His people; we will no longer need the picture when we have the reality (Matthew 22:25-30).
3. The OT foreshadows the believer's reserved place in heaven; we do not need the shadow when we have the reality (Matthew 22:23-25).
4. Moses also teaches that sin brings both spiritual and physical death (Matthew 22:24-27).
5. But because ‘I AM‘ lives, His covenant people also live; He overcomes both spiritual and physical death (Matthew 22:32, Exodus 3:6, 13-15).
6. Participate in the resurrection; understand the Scriptures and the power of God (Matthew 22:29).
