The Unified Ragtag Church

Thesis: Christians are to be united Because it is commanded, an imperative, in Verse 3. Why?

1. One Body
   a.If your are saved, you are part of God's plan to be used within the body made up of many parts.
   b.Unify around the work of Christ, his Word, truth. Eph 4:15 growing up to HIM, Christ the Head.

2. One Spirit
   a.One Body and One Bride.
   b.Eph 1:14- Holy Spirit given as a "engagement ring" of what is yet to come.
   c.All Christians share in the gift of the Holy Spirit
   d.Gal 5"25-26

3. One Hope - is an expectation of guaranteed results based upon thesure promise of God himself
   a.Live in sure calling and position we have in Christ
   b.Eph 1:18 - we will be holy without our remaining sin. This is our hope and calling.
   c. 1 Peter 1:13-16/1 John 3:2-3/Col3:1-17

4. One Lord - there is only one Lord
   a.Acts 4:12/Gal 1:8-9
   b.The only way to God, it through the person and work of Jesus Christ as explained in the Word of God
   c.Rom 10:12-13/Heb 4:13

5. One Faith
   a.Jude 3 - one faith anchored in the word of God.
   b.Faith in Christ as Lord.

6. One Baptism - the mark of our identification with Jesus Christ.
   a.it is the branding of the believer which identifies the christian with Christ's death and resurrection.

7. One GOD and Father v 6- Deuteronomy 6:4
   a.One God - manifests himself in 3 persons,Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
   b.God loves us, created, saved, sustains. Everything linked back to God.

CONCLUSION:Pursue unity with other believers because of the Work of Christ. Remember the oneness we have in Christ.
