The New Man

After Paul speaks of the gifts given to the Church for edification, he goes on to give a solemn charge: Christians should no longer walk in their former ways. But before he gives specific exhortations, he gives the basis for the Christian life, which is the fact that Christians, though there is still remaining corruption, has put off the old man and put on the new man in Christ. The Christian life is the call to be what we already are in the Lord Jesus.
