Doctrinal Statement: “The books of the Old and New Testament as we have them today are shown to have been accepted very early by the church as comprising the complete revelation from God and as having been written by the human authors to whom they are accredited” (Bancroft, 26).
Bibliology is the study the Scripture and the Scripture is our “rule of faith.”
Bancroft says, “By the canonicity of the Scripture is meant that, according to certain and fixed standards, the books included in them are regarded as parts of a complete and divine revelation, which is therefore authoritative and binding in relation to both faith and practice” (Bancroft, 20).
Once Moses was given the tables of the law he was to store them in the ark of the covenant
And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me (Deuteronomy 10:5) .
A few years after the Exodus, God commanded any future king of Israel to write a copy of God’s words for himself and to read them everyday.
