The Good Tree Bears Good Fruit

Last week we looked at how we understand the scriptures. First, we were given the scriptures by God to understand. We are actually and truly accountable for knowing and understanding them. They are our strength, comfort and encouragement. Second, we may understand through three simple rules. We ask first, what does it say and examine all the words and content of the section. Second we ask 'What does it mean?' This looks at what it means in the context of the passage, in parallel with other passages on the same subject. Last we ask about how this applies, both in general contexts and in specific instances of life. Join us as we look at the illustration of the good tree and look at these questions, seeking to know the word of God.
