Humble Living - The Supreme Example

This message was given by Pastor Jonathan Stobbs as he continued his evening ministry in Paul's Epistle to the Philippians. Why is Christ the supreme example of humble living? As Pastor Stobbs embarks on an exposition of this 'hymn to Christ' in Philippians 2:5-11, he is speaking of some of the most remarkable verses in the Scriptures. In this message he explains the extent of what Paul is saying here with regards to how Christ humbled Himself to come to this earth. As some theologians have labelled this doctrine, it is the 'humiliation of Christ'. Pastor Stobbs clearly shows that the first reason for the believer to live humbly, is to see the Lord Jesus Christ as the supreme example of humility. Yet, in doing this, Pastor Stobbs makes it very clear that Jesus Christ is fully God, and yet fully man, and to deny any aspect of this is to fail to see the truth of the Scriptures. A challenging message that also reaffirms and explains the doctrine of the humanity and deity of the Saviour.As Pastor Stobbs exclaims, 'We stand before an adorable mystery, a mystery of power, wisdom and love!'
