An Impossible Requirement

This Lord's Day (on sin) has often been the basis of criticism for the Heidelberg Catechism. Why open the document on the topic of sin? This criticism is not founded. The Heidelberg Catechism follows closely the lines of salvation presented in scripture. Sin is fundamental to this and further the knowledge of our sin. The understanding of sin fundamentally brings us to the cross. This is a common theme of the scripture.
