Jesus' Words from the Cross, Part 2

Each year during the week of Easter, Reformed Baptist Church of Kansas City focuses on the Cross of Christ on Wednesday and then the Resurrection of Christ on Sunday.

For Easter of 2011, the text of John 19:16-20:18 was used. And the Sunday and Wednesday before Easter was used for a two-part sermon using the seven sayings of Christ from the cross as an outline.

This second sermon on the 'sayings from the cross' presented Christ as God the Redeemer (His atonement emphasized) with 'My God, My God, why have you forsaken...', 'It is finished!' and 'Father, into Your hands..."

In these final three sayings we see the wrath absorbed, the redemption accomplished, the restoration assured by Christ.
