Christian conduct in marriage

Having discussed how we should submit to governing authorities and how servants should submit to their masters, Peter now turns to submission in marriage and how God calls wives to submit to their husbands, even if they are unbelieving, so that they might be won through the godly conduct of their viwes. Wives should thus focus not on outward beauty but on inward beauty - a humble and quiet spirit.
At the same time, husbands are called to be considerate to their wives and treat them with honour.
