Discovering You Hate God

The text tells us that after Jesus died, the crowds went away beating their breasts. What happened? They had come to gawk and mock. But by the end, they were loathing themselves. The light bulb had been turned on. They suddenly realized what they had done. They realized they had crucified an innocent Man and were at war with God. Have you ever come to understand that by nature you are at war with God and that you hate Him? Has the light bulb ever been turned on, so that you could see your enmity against God? Do you loathe yourself for what you have done and said against God? Are you reconciled to Him now?
