The True Minister is Willing to Suffer for Christ
Series Sermons from 2 Corinthians
In this remarkable testimony of Paul, the apostle humbles himself in complete transparency to set forth his claims to the confidence of the Corinthian Christians in the face of his opponents in Corinth. In doing so he provides yet another mark or trait of a true minister of Christ: He is willing to suffer for Christ to carry out his duty. This, of course, the false ministers of Christ in Corinth would not do. The sermon divides the text into 3 parts: 1) Paul's apologetic introduction to the catalog of his sufferings; 2) What he suffered to carry out his ministry; and 3) What this should mean to us today--to faithful ministers and all who sit in Christian pews.
