God's expectation of the Husband in marriage is to “Love his wife as Christ loved the church”. Christ's love of the church is not characterized by His bride, the church's faithfulness but rather her unfaithfulness. In the same way a husband is to love and be devoted to his ministry to his wife irrespective of her behavior.
