Lk 24 1-12 Four Testimonies

Four gospel writers right about the same sequence of events Each one writes from his own perspective. Each one has its own unique characteristics and recollections. Each one contributes something to the total story.

These differences, rather than detract from the reliability of their testimony, actually buttresses the credibility of their recollections. Instead of getting together to make sure they have their story straight, each one speaks from his own knowledge.

Today, I want to help put the different details from each of the stories into the order they must have occurred. What we see is an incredible record of actions, reactions, perceptions, misperceptions and yet...

All four writers record four major aspects...1) The tomb is empty; 2) The angelic witnesses; 3) The Women's testimonies; 4) The Disciples Unbelief.

Together, these make up a powerful witness of the resurrection of Jesus...just as He predicted.
