Anxiety vs. The Kingdom, Pt. 2
Series Miscellaneous
•Remember, the point of this passage is not a “cure” for anxiety but to set forth the life of a Christian that ends up, among other wonderful things, addressing our anxiety. This is for disciples of Christ.
•The goal here is not to berate but to challenge; not to condemn but to encourage; not to convict but to persuade.
We should not be anxious…
- Because our life is more than food and clothing (v. 25).
- Because we are more valuable than the animals (v. 26 — Are you not of more value than they?).
- Because our anxiety cannot add to our lives (v. 27).
- Because God will care for us just as He cares for the rest of creation (vv. 28-30).
- Because God knows you need these things (v. 32).
- Because we “do not know what tomorrow will bring” (v. 34, James 4:14).
