The Point: True believers eradicate their pride and prejudice by knowing who we are in Christ.

The Way to Fracture Our Christian Community

2:2-3 “For is a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into

your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes

in, and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine

clothing and say, “You sit here in a good place,” while you say,

“You sit here in a good place,” while you say to the poor man,

“You stand over there,” or, “Sit down at my feet”

The Point: True believers are less concerned about external appearances, and more concerned about a person’s heart.

A Challenge to Our Christian Community

2:4 “have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?”

The Point: The person who lives with pride and prejudice harbors evil thoughts.
